It seems to me that with each of the major updates that valve releases they add 1 new item that really is just annoying for the person who it is used against and sometimes (not always) out right over powered. The Sandman is really really annoying, overall its strengths are not as good as the loss of double jump but what it does goes directly against some of the original statements that valve made in the old TF2 Developer commentary, like taking control away from a player, or having a player die with little to no chance to retaliate after the first attack. The FaN isn't too bad its just buggy with the knockback and really strong in pub games where there is little communication between players as well as varied level of skill. The backburner used to be the really annoying item from the pyro patch, till they finally got rid of the extra health that made the pyro retardly strong. The blutsauger would be annoying in the hands of a skilled player, especially if more people played medic. But thankfully neither happen very often and its become essentially required if you choose to medic (its actually possible to almost out heal a pyro attacking you using the blut if both of you hit every shot) The Dead Ringer went from insanely over powered, to completely useless, and now its a bit over powered but mostly just extremely annoying. The fact that its quite possible to keep that 90% damage reduction available nearly indefinitely be canceling your cloak and picking up ammo (even just ammo from dead players) means that at least it takes SOME skill to use it unlike when it first came out but I've seen it used to stop an uber flat out by blocking their path and absorbing damage. Having the DR out makes you able to survive 2 backstabs (the third will kill you if you don't heal first). The Natasha is only annoying because its so damn hard to tell if a heavy is using it before he starts to fire, that and the fact it took them so f'n long before they managed to get the damn thing to work correctly. The huntsman can be annoying in small cooridors where it is easy to spam it, overall I'd say its balanced but just really irritating at times to fight against. Its been nearly 2 months now since the sniper/spy update and its STILL near impossible to get a game going where you don't have 2 or 3 spies and 2 or 3 snipers on your team (making your team at times made up of HALF snipers and spies even on OFFENSE) I'd say the Spy/Sniper update had some shortcomings and could have been better but it still was a HUGE step up from the steaming pile of SUCK that was the Scout update but with how the community is acting and the ideas valve is coming up with I worry for the future of the game.... </rant> |

The only unlocks I dislike are the FaN and the Cloak and Dagger. The FaN because it's so overpowered and the C&D because it attracts idiots who think waiting around for five minutes in a corner to get 1 stab is playing spy right to my favorite class. |

the flare gun and the huntsman can suck my dick, air blast is retarded and should be reverted to not hitting cloaked spys as with the FAN, ALL the sniper AND spy unlocks say for the ambassidor suck giant dicks. IMO if they reverted the game back to just the medic unlocks it would be a good game again. |

I think the flaregun is one of the more balanced unlocks TBH but its annoying to see people spamming it constantly rather than being a helpful pyro. Plus the shotgun ownz against other pyros usually pyro v pyro battles are a pain but with the shotty its ez. Edited by Eternal, Jul 25 2009, 11:55 PM.
